This listing is for a lovely plate by Hector Garrido entitled "Our Lady of Grace" which is the Fifth Issue in the "Visions of our Lady" collection done for the Bradford Exchange. This limited edition plate is in excellent condition and hand numbered. The official Bradford Exchange plate description says in part: Catherine Laboure was nine when her mother died. In her grief, she declared that the Holy Mother would serve as her own mother forev...er more. True to her word, the girl entered the novitiate with the Sisters of Charity at age 18. And at the convent, at 140 rue du Bac, Paris, the Blessed Virgin began to appear to her. Over the course of many months, Our Lady told her that she would be charged with a mission. On November 27, 1830, while Sister Catherine knelt for evening prayer, Our Lady -- robed in silk and standing on a snake which encircled a sphere -- appeared to her. Rays of grace streamed from Her hands. An oval frame surrounded Her. Words materialized that said: O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.......... The descriptive note on the back of the plate says: THE MEMORARE Remember, O gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercessian was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of Virgins and my Mother, to you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful: O Mother of the Word incarnate, despise not my petitions but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
