Original Description:
Here's a nice 1862 Indian Head Cent dug on private land around Beaver Dam Station, on the Va. Central RR., in Hanover County, Va. This was one of several sites hit by Sheridan's 10, 000 man cavalry raid in May, 1864. It's in very good condition, and has a clear date. This raid freed several hundred Union prisoners, but left Grant no cavalry at the battlefield of Spotsylvania. A really nice addition to your relic collection.
