Liturgia Horarum, Liturgy of the Hours in Latin, Breviary - 4 Volume Set 1972. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box fully insured.
This is for a set of the Liturgy of the hours in Latin called respectively “Liturgia Horarum.”
Here are excerpts from a description from Wikipedia:“The Liturgy of the Hours (Latin: Liturgia Horarum) or Divine Office (Latin: Officium Divinum) or Work of God (Latin: Opus Dei) or canonical hours, [a] often referre...d to as the Breviary, [b] is the official set of prayers "marking the hours of each day and sanctifying the day with prayer".[3] It consists primarily of psalms supplemented by hymns, readings and other prayers and antiphons. Together with the Mass, it constitutes the official public prayer life of the Church. The Liturgy of the Hours also forms the basis of prayer within Christian monasticism.[4]Within the Latin Church, the present official form of the entire Liturgy of the Hours is that contained in the four-volume publication Liturgia Horarum, the first edition of which appeared in 1971.”
This set is in very good used condition.These books appears to have been covered with custom plastic book covers possibly since they were purchased. The last photo will show these. I think it’s great they have been kept on there but the leather and gold leaf are so beautiful I would surely display them that way but if in use, I’m sure the covers would work well. They have surely kept them in beautiful condition through the years.Volume III has a name in it with what appears to be a sticky label (as shown in photo) but the other three volumes do not have any names or markings inside.I have taken many pictures so you can see the condition as well as the built-in bookmarks and how they have folded over time.Please message me if you have any questions.All sales are as is, as found and final.Thank you so much for looking.
