ITEM DESCRIPTIONItem DescriptionUp for your consideration is a very fine signed Prof. Eugenio Pattarino Madonna and child figural group, c. 1950. The piece is signed by the artist on the back, and among the finest quality for this superb and important Italian artist. It is completely hand-formed and painted. Pattarino is one of Italy's finest ceramicists. His house was in the Vatican, and his one-of-a-kind pieces were often given away as gifts from the Pope. The piece measures 16" tall, 11" wide, and 8" deep. It weighs about 15 lbs.Overall, the piece is in excellent condition, with one concern: the tip of one Mary's finger is chipped off (see last photo). Otherwise, there are no chips, cracks, crazing, or restorations. The gold gilt remains bright and shows little wear.
