Wonderful and rare example of an original blown glass wine bottle with its owner’s name and date of birth on the applied seal...”John Andrew 1822” was most likely John Chapman Andrew born March 9, 1822...a distinguished man who became a Church of England priest, an Oxford educator, a pastoralist and member of Parliament in New Zealand according to my research....this bottle measures 10-5/8” high....with a nice pontil mark and some large bubbles one of which has a burst inside o...f it which I tried to show in the photos....tiny flea bite on the rim otherwise excellent antiquarian condition as shown.....a great bottle with a marvelous history....please email any questions before bidding.
