This is an old Emmett Kelly "The Clown" Ventriloquist Doll or Puppet that was part of an estate sale. It measures 30" tall and is dressed in a red, yellow and blue patchwork jacket, red vest, green shirt and slacks with a red, yellow, blue and white striped tie. It is marked on the back of his neck "TALKING CLOWN...JURO NOVELTY CO., INC.". This doll is in really good condition considering it's age (40 to 50 years old). These dolls were manufactured by JURO from 1968 t...o 1977. His clothes are not faded, worn nor moth eaten. There is a heavy string coming out of his neck on the back which moves his mouth. Pull the string and his mouth opens, but it does not return to the closed position. Evidently there was a rubber band or something else that closed the mouth that is not working now. Other than that he is a really nice, and very collectible old puppet. Thanks for looking and be sure to check my other listings for more unusual items.
