Not sure whether this was for pens or pencils or matches or shoe strings or a measuring tape or what, but it can be hung on the wall or set on a desk. It is 2-1/4" high and 2" deep. The box part measures 3" across. With the hanging edges, it is 5". "Wm. Henze Shoe Co. Shoes and Hosiery 1602 St. Joseph Avenue St. Joseph, Mo. Black with gold lettering. The lettering stands out better than the photo shows, but it is somewhat faded.
