1861 Iowa Officer ( On Leave...) 1/6th Plate Tintype/Full Case Measuring ( 3.25 X 3.50 Closed...) w/G.A.R. War Service Medal attached to the inner Embossed Velvet Case. The Service Medal Represents the 1914 Reunion Encampment June 16-18, 1914. When the Casing is Displayed, the Rarity measures ( 3.25 X 7.0 Opened for Display..) The Officer's Portrait is Amazingly Detailed & Undamaged. He is ON LEAVE...Wearing his Brand New Wool Overcoat. He is not "Field Worn or Dirty". His Bright White... Shirt & Brass Button Vest are also Crisp & Clean. This Unique Cased Military Portrait has Original Brass Matting, Casing, & Glass. The Exterior Hand Tooled Leather UNION CASING has minor ware, but No Major Dryness or Flaking. There is an Old Spine Repair, but, this does Not Detract from the Rare Beauty of this Highly Desirable Civil War Treasure. This Patriotic Union Soldier must of Survived the War.
