Budweiser Lager Beer empty opening instructions (OI) flat top beer can by Anheuser-Busch, Inc., St. Louis, MO. IRTP; OI; clean & solid; good colors; clean seam, slightly tarnished lids; few minor markings, the worst shown in the eighth picture (ignore the glare on each side of the scratch); grade one. It was opened with the large antique church key (beer can opener) that adds character to the can. An example is probably the one pictured on page 43-35 of the USBC book. It'...s hard to tell from the pictured examples. A more specific example is probably the one pictured on page 144 of Kevin C. Lilek's United States Beer Cans with Opening Instructions book. It is difficult to tell for sure because of the 26 different pictured examples, several with very minor variations. If it is the one on page 144, Lilek assigns this "Circa: 1940-Early 1942" can a "R-3/R-1" Rarity Rating. R-3 means "Slightly Uncommon: Available, " in grade one condition.
