Bell Trading Post Parachute Airborne Basic Parachutist Jump Wings Hallmarked
Item History & Price
These are Basic Airborne Parachutist Jump Wings of the United States Army and were made by Bell Trading Post AKA Bell Products once located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The wings are hallmarked with the Bell Trading Post hallmark which is a sign post with the symbol of a bell inside. These wings are also marked 1/20th silver filled and GI which indicates that while they are not sterling silver, they are made with a portion of real silver. 'GI' is the Institute of Heraldry mark... for Government Issue. Bell Trading Post went out of business some years ago and 1/20th Silver Filled military insignia have not been made in over 30 years. Today most military badges are made from cheap pot metal. So this is an opportunity to pick up a hard to find genuine hallmarked parachute badge. You get the wings shown in the photo with the original manufacturer's card.
These wings are similar to those illustrated in the Bragg and Turner book as B&T 40. If you are trying to collect the various makers of US Wings, this is your opportunity to pick up an uncommon variety. See Photos. A nice addition to any parachute wing collection. See my other auctions for more parachute wings and elite unit memorabilia. I will be listing a large collection of parachute wings on eBay, so if you are a parachute badge collector, check back often to see what is available.
