This is an overall fine original U.S. pressing copy of the sole LP (not counting archival releases) by bluegrass supergroup Old and in the Way, a 1973 live recording released in 1975. The group featured rock refugees Jerry Garcia (the Grateful Dead), John Kahn (long-time Garcia collaborator), Peter Rowan, and David Grisman (both of whom had been in the Boston group Earth Opera), along with fiddler Vassar Clements, who was a generation older than the other members, and had played ...with both Bill Monroe and Earl Scruggs. The performance documented on this LP was recorded in October 1973 in San Francisco, and features a mix of traditional songs and compositions by group members, along with a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses." The jacket's flaws are mostly around the edges: splitting in and wear on the top seam, corner and spine wear, and light ring, bottomseam, and edge wear (VG+). The disc has some light scraping and scuffing, and plays with occasional light surfacenoise -- EX(+). I’m in the process of sellingoff a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have beenstored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jacketshave been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discsexcept where otherwise noted. If you'd like to order multiple items, I'llhappily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
