Next Up: TootsieToy living room/parlor set complete in original box.Box lid is caved in a bit and roughed up on corners, but box interior is clean and undamaged.All pieces accounted for 12 piece set in Queen Anne style:2 glass door corner Curio Cabinets1 Large Desk with Center drawer and working file drawers (the left one comes out but right must be paint stuck.1 Beautiful writing table/desk1 Long dining table2 armchairs4 dining table / side chairs1 wheeled tea cart with turned handle... and fancy aprons (wheels are on an axle and turn perfectly.All in Queen Anne style, with amazing details included in castings.Original finish on all pieces which is the pity almost, one thing the tootsie toy manufacturers did was use junk paint on the pieces. it's thick but looks as though it has chipped off in areas even without being played with, and these are all original finish.You will see numerous small amounts of paint loss here and there but this is normal with tootsie metal pieces.In any event these are all original new in box, the two "glass" door corner curios, desk, Long dining table with X vertical stretchers, with star medallion at crossing point on three toed feet.The detail is pretty amazing they even have lines in the table representing the middle table expansion insert.Cabriole legs on all pieces, scrolled crests with acanthus decoration. you see the scalloped aprons on the curios and check out the detail on the writing table, with wood grain on front panel, bail pulls, even a keyhole with escutcheon !!! beautifully scrolled crest with the acanthus flourishes, just like real Queen Anne furniture.It's a shame, they couldn't have used better quality paint but these are like as brand new as you will find TootsieToys, in original box, only damage is a missing upper hing pin on one of curio doors and one of the file drawers on the desk does not open, maybe stuck and we didn't want to force it open.All legs and feet are in like new condition, drawers present and functioning properly.You cannot find a nicer original Tootsie toy in box set, except if you find a perfect box: this one is colorful, etc, but is caved on top and has typical corner tears.Also included are three area rugs, two, in a Persian or Chinese area rug style, and one, a large rectangular area rug, a burnt orange color, resembling a cut pile rug. The burnt orange area rug is original to the set.All are clean, colorful, two oriental rugs have fine fringed ends in excellent condition. Orientals are 5 1/2" x 3" including fringe: larger rug 6 1/4" x 4 3/4" included. Orientals are stamped on reverse: Egyptienne Straights so these are advertising premiums included in packs of Egyptienne Straights cigarettes in early 20th c.So along with the Tootsie Toy furniture, you get some nice floor coverings.Vintage, near mint, complete, clean, you'll love this if you love Tootsie Toy furniture!
