Keane, Bil (1922-2011). "FAMILY CIRCUS" ORIGINAL COMIC STRIP ART, INSCRIBED by the Syndicated Cartoonist BIL KEANE, with a caption reading "ARE YOU SURE GRANDMA SAID TO PUT THE MONEY SHE GAVE US IN THE BANK?" The Register and Tribune Syndicate, 1972. An original pen & ink drawing on 9-3/4 inch high by 8-1/4 inch wide card stock. The image, framed by an ink circle, portrays mom handing money to a bank teller as the four children in Winter attire stand around with various expre...ssions of dismay on their faces. Signed "Bil Keane" under the circle at bottom right. The caption mounted with glue under the image, reads: "Are you SURE Grandma said to put the money she gave us in the bank?" The Register and Tribune Syndicates credits are also mounted with glue at bottom left. The original drawing is additionally inscribed in blue ink by the cartoonist Bil Keene: "To Tommy Fox with best wishes from The Family Circus and Bil Keane". There is but the slightest soiling to the top corners of the borders with two pinholes to the top corners. Very good. The syndicated comic strip "The Family Circus" debuted on February 29, 1960. Created by Bil Keane, the strip was taken over by his son Jeff Keane following Bil's death in 2011. TERMS: Shipping charges are calculated based on the total packed weight of this item.
