Pre-WWII Guardian Service Ware Aluminum Cookware Pressure Cooker Canner Racks
Guardian Service cookware is aslo known as Guardian Ware. It was made by Century Metalcraft Corporation which was located in Los Angele, California from the 1930's up until the late 1950's.
Prior to making Guardian Service, SILVER SEAL was the brand of aluminum cookware manufactured by that company.
Guardian Service was sold by two methods. There was a door-to-door concept whe...reas the salesman would literally ring the bell as use his sales pitch. There were also "Home Parties" where some kind woman would make her home and kitchen available for the salesman to come in and actually use the cookware to make a dinner. The little lady of the house would invite her girlfriends over with the hopes of sales!!
GS cookware is constructed out of hammered aluminum, and is considered to be heavy-duty in contrast to today's cookware. During the pre-WWII years, this cookware had metal lids. But, because of the rationing during the War, the lids were then made from oven-proof glass.
