Vintage Apple Power Macintosh G3 Minitower (M4405) 266MHz 128MB
Item History & Price
We are offering a functional, vintage PowerMac G3 with a 266 MHz processor 128MB of memory. The machine boots up but without a compatible monitor, we haven't been able to ascertain more than that it boots. This machine is surplus from a local university and I believe it might have been used in a sever role based on the disk configuration.
There is no operating system installed though there are hard drives:One (1) SCSI drive with the same conne...ctor as the motherboard. Two (2) SCSI-bus disks with the "trapezoid" connector more common on server drives. Also installed is an IOMEGA "Jaz" drive which were hard-drives-in-a-cartridge, if I recall correctly.
You could replace the SCSI disks with IDE/ATA drives to install Mac OS or Mac OS X variants or you could install a PowerPC-flavor Linux distribution. Buyers choice!
The bundle also contains Apple Keyboard and Apple Mouse, meaning that you can add a monitor and you are off to the races. We will be sending CDs with the Apple Software Restore content for this machine along with a Mac OS 9.2.1 install disc. These will be burned, not factory original.
If you want to buy only the tower, please use Best Offer and add the relevant info there. Please see our other listings for a corresponding monitor.
See photos for the specs on this model.
PLEASE NOTE: Given that this is a vintage system, we are warrantying it as Non-DOA (that it powers on) but not beyond that. We do not have the corresponding hardware, drivers and devices, to verify that there is 100% functionality on 100% of the ports or features.
