This is the early style (c1910) Dutch oven that started to carry the Griswold name. This Dutch oven's lid and outside surface of the pot are in fantastic condition. The only real issue with this oven is the patches of deep pitting on the cooking surface. Two sheets of printer paper stops movement on a granite surface. There are no chips cracks or repairs and does not spin.
This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolys...is treatments. This process insures the removal all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. Pan is well seasoned with several rounds of seasoning at 450 degrees with Crisco for several hours . This item is photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, item will take on a brown color. Item is much darker under normal light.
