Coors stopped making nonessential wares at the start of World War II. During World War II, Coors made porcelain-like nose cones for rockets for the U.S. military. After the war, the pottery made ovenware, teapots, vases, and a general line of pottery, but no dinnerware---except for special orders. In 1986 Coors Porcelain became Coors Ceramics. In 2000, Coors Ceramics changed its name to CoorsTek.... The company is still in business making industrial porcelain.
