They were first issued in 1941. These were made of 70% WOOL and 30% Cotton which held up well as long as the moths stayed away. This one appears to have a few marks, but they do not go all the way through. The Brownie Elf Logo was STENCILED on in a... light tan color. This is in Very Good Used Condition and most important, it still has the top-notch intact. This style Beanie was in effect until 1962 when the printed elf was replace with a patch; (check my store for that style.) I have three exactly like this, and they measures approximately 21 inches around the inside. ALL have the Girl Scout label intact, perfect for your Halloween Costume . BEST GOES FIRST.
