Pressed in the back: L.V.A. 1922 (Louis V. Aronson 1869-1940)
Louis V. Aronson registered his first patent for electroplating metal in the mid 1880's. He sold that patent to raise money to form his business The Art Metal Company in NYC. The Ronson Art Metal Works was one of the most prolific and creative of... all art metal bookend producers. In 1915, he copyrighted his first pair of bookends and by 1936, he had over 150 copyrighted. His bookend production subsided in the 1930's.

In great condition despite its age. The Ronson label is missing as well as the green felt on the bottom of one of the bookends (photo 5). Small color loss on the arm of one of the monks (photo 8) and in the back. (photo 6)
