Art Deco Dunhill Table Lighter modelled on the F-86 Sabre Jet in Chrome.
The Dunhill 'Jet Plane' Lighter is depicting the famous North American Aviation F-86 Sabre a transonic jet fighter aircraft. The Sabre jet set its first official world speed record of 570 mph (920 km/h) in September 1948. Six years later in 1954 in England this heavy Dunhill figural lighter was manufactured. The production ceased in 1961.
The nose button opens very quickly but does require f...lint and fuel.
Since the main photos were taken (it has been in storage for some time)I have given it a quick polish and it comes up a treat (see last photo)There are, obviously, some light scratching to the chrome on close inspection.
