You are bidding on original, one-of-a-kind pre production pencil drawings (set of 3 genga & genga correction) used in the making of the 1988 all time classic anime, Akira. Item is original and authentic. Kaneda, Yamagata, and Kai looking outside at school. They just saw Tetsuo taking Kaneda's bike for ride! Pencils are in great condition except for some very minor creases. The correction is done by the animation director and it's interesting to see the difference in they way the genga ...man originally did the character design, and how much the director corrected it. Genga drawing is a partial as shown. Image size of Kaneda is about 5.25 inches by 6 inches. Image size of Yamagata is about 6 inches by 5.5 inches. From Sequence 5, Cut 91. It's still one of the top-grossing animated movies of all time. The June 2002 issue of Wired Magazine ranks Akira among the top 20 greatest SF films of all time and is the only animated feature listed among such films as Blade Runner and Star Wars. As of September 2017, Warner Bros. is in talks with Taika Waititi (Dr. Strange & Thor: Ragnarok) to direct the long-discussed live-action adaptation. Bandai has released some fresh items in honor of the 30th anniversary of the manga.
