This is an absolutely stunning vintage hand pieced and hand quilted Grandmother's Fan quilt. The quilting is circular and dense at 6 to 8 stitches per inch. There are 42 fans sewn with a thin cotton muslin both on the front and for the backing and binding. The fabrics are wonderful feed sack fabrics from the 1930's. The quilt has a red border which may be applique - it is so well sewn, it is hard to tell. There is no damage or staining on the front with 7 small light age appropriate sp...ots on the backing. It has a medium weight cotton batting perhaps with seeds. The quilt measures 60" by 73".
