This is a vintage real estate advertising pamphlet titled: Welcome (to) Marguerite Manor. Undated, estimate from the early 1920's. Marguerite Manor was a real estate development of Leonard R Steel. Steel was a Buffalo businessman with a chain of department stores and real estate interests. He was involved in some kind of stock scandal, in the 1920's, and died while trying to revive his businesses.According to the booklet, Marguerite Manor ...was located in Amherst NY where "Ellicott Creek Rd meets New Home Rd". The publication says it is a "sylvan... fairyland" with beautiful gardens, entertainment and neighboring "farm folks". Numerous pictures including construction workers, an "Indian Band", old mill site, and more.A page found with the booklet showing Steel's Nelson Store in Mass. and his real estate organization is included in the auction (picture 7 + 8). Measures 9 3/4" x 6".Fair/poor condition. There is a fold down center, paper darkening, bends and water mark at bottom of pages. Sold "as is".
