Antique Bausch & Lomb Microscope Lens (4mm) With Brass Case

We found this in a box with some other antique tools and medical items. We don't know microscopes. There's a brass case with very fine interior threads and with what looks like a microscope lens. There's no identifying marks on the lens. We think it's a Bausch & Lomb lens because it came in the brass case.
