Chamberlain is known to have exhibited as early as 1903 with the Society of Western Artists, and also at art shows in Detroit and Chicago.Oil painting/portrait on board. Size is 9 1/2" x 5 1/2." Estate stamp on the reverse. Framed. Please see condition description and pictures!!! The model is another artist, Lydia Morris Scranton (1872-1945) from Detroit. A friend of the artist. No idea on their relationship or how he knew her. Have several photographs of her that are shown. Do not have the originals but can be down-loaded. From the family of the artist. Also note that these items have all been stored in not the greatest of conditions for many years. Almost none of them are on stretchers. Most were in trunks and cardboard boxes. Please ask any questions. Willing to combine items for shipment. Please let me know on this.
