This is a vintage 1970's era RARE General Electric 8-Track Tape Player that WORKS GREAT ! It's been tested w/ a tape and all four tracks will play so you can alternate easily via the four track buttons. The volume and tone dials work well. Has auto advance.
The housing of the player is in good shape - has some minor wear, a bit of a whitish stain above the earphone jack. The original strap is gone, but the last owner added a nice leather strap with some brass ornamentation on ...it. This works on batteries and an electric cord.
The Battery compartment is clean - and the electric cord also is in good shape.
Tape players like this one are hard to find. In fact, the estate sale person sold this didn't even know what it was or how to work it. To me, that says this is a wonderful piece of WORKING electronic memorabilia that will make a great gift - or conversation piece providing great vintage music listening.
