Rare Vintage 1940's Venex Snakebite Pocket-sized KitThis offering is for an original, unused, compete, pocket-sized snakebite kit made by E.D. Bullard Company, San Francisco, CA. This old tin First Aid Pocket Packetwas made by the E.D. Bullard Company of San Francisco, California. Edward Dickinson Bullard’s company was knownfor “Everything in Safety” starting in 1898 providing safety equipment for goldand silver mines. The discovery of oil in Texas opened up a new... market and E.D.Bullard Snake Bite kits were issued to oilfield workers as well as their welldesigned hard hats which furthered their commitment to safety. THE VENEX FIRST AID KIT FOR TREATMENTOF SNAKE BITE CONTAINS: SYRINGE, LANCET, TOURNIQUET, ADHESIVE COMPRESS, IODINESWAB, RUBBER ADAPTER, AMMONIA INHALANT, WHITE PETROLATUM, AND DIRECTIONS FORTREATMENT/ AFTER-TREATMENTDimensions: approximately 4"x 2 1/2"x 7/8"Weight: 4 5/8 ouncesThe item is in overall, very good condition. The tinwas originally sealed with a white, cloth-like tape. The remnants of whichstill line the outside of the tin. The tin is in very good condition. Theinside of the content side of the tin has a couple of brown/rust spots. Theoutside of the tin is in very good condition with little evidence of wear. Thetourniquet and compress has never been undone and even contains the originalrubber bands (probably since they were made from natural rubber and notsynthetic). The Direction Sheet is slightly yellowed but fully intact and isremovable from the hinged tin. The aromatic spirits vial is empty as the contents have evaporated over theyears. The item has been stored inside ahome since at least the early 1960's. This is a very nice, rare vintage collectible, complete snakebite kit.Please refer to the photographsas this is the exact item the buyer shall receive.
