This is a special Scissors Clock with fusee cable driven movement, having double pendulums like a pair of scissors when it is running. The set of two pendulums swing back and forth opposite each other and it is truly an attention getting clock. Look at its 3 1/2 inch diameter porcelain dial with scissors between the roman numerals, and the hands shaped like a pair of scissors, in strange positions as the clock is working. The clock is 20 3/8 x 12 1/8 inches, and it has an antique finish on its fully skeletonized brass case, so it appears very old, but is not an antique clock. Notice it has a solid wood base and brass front door that opens on the dome, which allows you to wind the clock without needing to take the dome off the clock. Even the matching key looks like a pair of scissors. If you have someone in your family who is a seamstress, this would make a terrific gift.
