Toad leather first caught the public eye when Prince Charles was presented with a cane toad leather bound book by the Premier of Queensland.The cane toad was introducted in Australia in 1935 from Hawaii to help combat the sugar cane beetle population. It has since over-populated and is now considered a major pest.The bufo was introduced to Florida as well, for grub control in the sugar cane ...fields, and became established due to an accidental release of 100 specimens from the stock of a pet dealer at the Miami International Airport.Professionally tanned and dyed Bufo marinus toad skin.The glazing process allows the subtle natural textures and coloring to show through.Skins are available in both matte and glossy finishes.Size is approximately 3” x 6”
You will receive a skin similar to the photo.Although we have made every effort to display our products and their colors as accurately as possible, the displayed colors of the items will depend primarily upon the monitor of your computer or the screen of your device.Please remember that dye lots change, so order sufficient quantities to complete your project.There are tiny pin holes around the perimeter due to stretching during the tanning process.There may also be a cloaca hole, which is naturally occurring.
