Offered for sale is a juror summons from 1937 for the sensational murder trial of Robert George Irwin vs. the State of New York. Irwin murdered three people on Easter Sunday in 1937 and the hunt for his whereabouts was on the front page of every newspaper nationwide. He was a well-known N.Y.C. sculptor and sometimes mental patient. His legal defense attorney was the famous Samuel Leibowitz. Irwin was deemed insane and spent the rest of his life in a N.Y. mental institution. The summons... is in fair condition with wear consistent with age and use - yellowing, folds, creases, etc. The jury summons belonged to my grandfather - who was often called in as a juror or consultant on high profile trials in N.Y.C.
