Great piece of Christmas fantasy stop motion animation just in time for this year's Holiday Show...it's the 16mm black and white sound approx. 15 minute CHRISTMAS WINDOW. A girl looks into a toy shop window and the toys come to life. We have a huge cast of characters--dolls, sheep, a monkey, frogs, soldiers-- that play and cavort in the shop. Suddenly, Krampus appears and terrorizes the innocent toys. Santa arrives on the scene, fights and destroys Krampus, and we have a happy ending, ...just in time for Christmas. PLEASE NOTE: the title "Christmas Window" was tacked on, I suspect, when this was copyrighted back in 1959 by a company called Sterling Television Company, Inc. I doubt that was the original name of the film. This print reminds me very much of the Castle Films release "Christmas Dream" which was Czech animation. This film, however, is MUCH more elaborate, but of the same style. I tried researching this movie on the web but without success. If anyone has any info, please let me know.
