Cassette does not work.....probably needs new belts, but I can't be positive of this. The sound quality is quite nice for a radio about 40 years old BUT....(I WILL TRY MY BEST TO EXPLAIN HOW THIS RADIO FUNCTIONS): when you turn the volume and/or balance knob, crackling (sometimes loud, sometimes not ) may occurs. Also, when turning the balance knob the right or left speakers sometimes go out, but will come back on af...ter playing around with dials. I'm not sure of the connection, as I have no real electronic knowledge, but when the speaker balance is skewed, flipping the "radio line in" switch a time or two or three, seems to correct the problem. Once the radio has "settled down" it sounds quite good. The radio can be turned off and on and it will not need to be adjusted or played with every time but , just know that the crackling and unbalanced speakers could occur. (The unit seems to have a mind of it's own). This possibly might just need a small adjustment by a knowledgeable technician or do-it-yourself person.
The radio pulls in FM/AM stations quite well. Both original antennas extend and retract easily. Both antenna holders are intact. Both VU meters work. Tuner light and LEDs work. All four speakers work. Power cord is included. Original owner's manual included.
A little TLC can make this a special purchase (although it can be enjoyed in it's current state).
I have tried to offer an accurate description of units condition. If you are not sure of something, please ask before buying and accepting conditions of sale. Returns not accepted.
I will ship unit to any of the 48 contiguous US states (and Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico for supplemental shipping fee) , and other countries through the eBay international Global Shipping Program.Because of the size and weight, at my discretion, I will use whatever shipping carrier offers the most reasonable shipping rates to your location. "Economy Shipping" has been selected in the "shipping" category, but I may and probably will use an upgraded shipping method, such as USPS Priority, or Fed Ex Home.
