Newton NJ: c.1910 WM. H. NICHOLS Store Owner His Waterman Remex Fountain Pen A formerly black hard rubber fountain pen that has gone dark olive. On side is debossed in red, "WM. H. NICHOLLS PEN / NEWTON, N.J." Nib reads, "REMEX / N.Y." Eyedropper type filler, unscrews about 5/8 inches down the barrel. Length about 4-5/8 inches. Condition: No cracks or chips, the nib tines are slightly unaligned. No effort has been made to clean this pen or ascertain whether it works. Sold as-is, loo...k it over. Whether this was Nicholls' pen, or this was an advertising piece I cannot tell you, but here is a bit about him found on the net: William H. Nicholls was a printer for the New Jersey Herald for 21 years. Then he opened a store on Spring Street and sold china, glassware, toys, sporting goods, stationery, books, and did job printing. He also served on the town committee, was town treasurer, and keeper of school funds. His house was at the intersection of High Street and Love Lane (West End Avenue). 191214 / 3211 R12/17/2019 AUS
