Vintage HH Scott 340-B Stereomaster FM Tube Receiver w/ Wood Case. Specification: Model 340-B Available from 1963 -1964 Rated at 30 Watts per channel from (4) 7591 Tubes Inputs: Phono, Aux, and Tape 17.5" x 14" x 6.25" and weighs 35 lbs The 340-B came on the scene a little more than 15 months after the original 340(A)'s introduction. It's easy to confuse the 340-B with its Slide-rule dial with later solid-state models. But the "B" featured many improvements, which apparently justified ...a $20 increase in Sixties. All 340-B's have solid-state power supplies, headphone outputs, input indicators, speaker switching, and the new Auto-Sensor stereo switching (6KE8) MPX section 18 Tubes total for this Scott 340B Receiver includes three sections: 10-tube, Amplifier section: (4) 12AX7 - preamps (2) 6U8/6GH8-Split-load phase inverters (4) 7591 outputs 5-tube, FM Tuner section: (1) 6BS8/6BQ7 - FM RF amp (1) 6U8 FM mixer (2) 6AU6 (1) 6HS6 3-tube, FM MPX section: (1) 12AT7 (1) 6KE8 (1) 12AX7 The sound of this remarkable tube receiver is warm and pleasing compared to the Fisher 500C and 800C, Personally, I felt Scott 340B has more solid and punch in audio section as compared to Fisher 500C or 800C. And the FM Multiplex Stereo sensitivity is very high only needs a short metal wire connected to the Antenna input for pulling in many local station in hi-fi music listening. The chassis could be cleaned but after 50+ years it has a remarkably small amount of natural dirt and I like to keep vintage collectable items in their natural state.The description of this item is "as is" and it is sold "as is" with no returns.
