RARE ANTIQUE! EVELYN FLETCHER MUSIC METHOD wood tile TIMA blocks with NOTES & TIMES to learn PIANO or KEYBOARD in wood storage box - EXCELLENT CONDITION! This is a RARE ANTIQUE box with many wood tiles or blocks that is marked on the inside FLETCHER MUSIC METHOD TIMA BLOCKS pat. DEC. 14 - 1897. The storage box measures approximately 11" x 6" x 1.5" overall, and is quite heavy when loaded with all the tiles. I believe this was a teaching system for piano or other keyboard... that was developed in the late 1800s by EVELYN FLETCHER and her TIMA TILES were patented in 1897. The box contains many different shapes of tiles, and both sides are marked with different notes or time (?) marks. They can be arranged like a keyboard and used to help children understand their music. All the tiles are in EXCELLENT condition, but I'm not sure if the box is complete. MOST are there, but a few may be missing as the box is not quite full. (See the first and third photos.) I have not been able to find another set of these tiles anywhere on the internet. And very little is even written about the MUSIC METHOD and how these tiles were used in teaching. Hopefully, some music historian will know more about them and add this set to a collection of MUSIC MEMORABILIA. Please note, these tiles in their wood box are quite heavy and will be packed in a flat rate box for best cost sensitive shipping.
