An Extremely RARE, Standing , Reading Chair Height , Rush Light / Lamp , In Excellent Untouched Overall Condition. This Outstanding Example has an even more Rare Counter Balance Hook to add more weight to the Clamp. The Clamp seen a the Top would hold Rush Strips, Hemp , Reeds and Cattails for Burning. The Metal seen is all Hand Wrought Iron . It is Entirely Correct , and it has NO Restorations of any kind. It is entirely made with Mortice and Tenon Joints. The 2 Lower Uprights h...ave 3 Small Holes in Each Side, these were to hold Drying Dowels, for the Lamp Burning Items. They are missing , but can be Easily Replaced. The Woods used are Walnut and Chestnut. There is only one Hand Wrought Nail Seen , and that is at the Cone of the Rush Holder. It measures 47 1/2" high.
