Original Description:
Antique Ethiopian Kitabe, A Vellum Scroll with Christian stories or prayers,  then encased in leather and worn by the individual for life that it was written for.Completely intact and never been opened.The leather is in very good condition, has designs almost like crosses impressed into the leather, most are just plain. Possibly done for a higher status individual.Kitabe were used from the 14th century until the mid 19th century. This would have come from ...the later 1700's to mid 1800's most likely, but possibly earlier.Length is 6.5 cm or 2 5/8".Width is 2.8 x 1.8 cm. Ex-U.K. Antiquities Dealer purchased in the early 2000's.Certificate of Authenticity upon request with no charge.
