Description: For Sale is a Late 1960s/Early 1970s (AT LATEST) "Marvel The Mustang" by MARX Company. I had one of these when I was a little child and each year I find about 2-3 of these but they are surely getting scarce. This horse is meant to be ridden by little children approx. 3-5 Years old. I...t has wheels and as the child bounces up and down it helps propel it down the driveway. Originally it had foot pegs on the bottom of the front legs. Believe it or not, I am actually thankful it does not any longer for a very good reason. Because I have sold these before, I know positively that those footpegs increased the size of the shipping box needed to the point that shipping this toy became insanely expensive. I give my word that for any of the first time sellers on ebay selling this that have a very cheap shipping price, they are going to indeed get burnt on the shipping and will probably have to cancel the sale or ask the buyer to pay more for shipping. I know this all too well because it happened twice to me that I had pay a lot of out of pocket because I didn't realize that the shipping would be so high because of the box size needed due to the footpegs. As it is, this Marx horse stands 23.5"T x 24'L X 11"W and weighs just shy of 8 pounds. If it had footpegs it would be about 18"W and would require a box (with room for protection) that would be about 20"W and the price skyrockets!! Please also keep in mind that it would be EXTREMELY Simple to install footpegs yourself since there are pre-made holes that go directly through each leg. I am sure my photos will best further describe this item. Condition: On a scale of 1 - 10 (Ten being New in Package Only), I can confidentlygrade this item's condition to be a solid 7. Overall and Especially for being 45+ Years Old, this Classic Western American MARX Toy is in Very Good WORKING Condition. Marvel is No Less than 85% Immaculate. I don't sell dirty items. If it could be cleaned, I have cleaned it. Best of all is that the saddle of this toy is in Excellent Condition which is such a rarity!! Unfortunately the saddles/bridle straps usually ripped from rough play. Thankfully, these are fantastic!! The Original paint has some faded spots and there are some sporadic scuffs as to be expected. The main reason I haven't been able to grade this higher is because on both sides of the rear legs there is a crack in the plastic. Fortunately it does NOT threaten the integrity of the toy and is more of an eyesore than effecting how the toy works (See Photos). The reason is because the plastic is VERY Heavy Duty and Thick! I give my word on that because I really inspected it closely. But of course it does effect the price and my lower price will reflect any shortcomings.
