Then Reen...es, France Aug 4, 1944, 64 battle patients, & 350 of American, Canadian, British, POW's that were in captured German Hospital.Then Viffaines, Richardville, St. Martins, Machault, Azarnes, Drouville, Nancy Sept 27, 1944.
The 35th moves to Teting area on Dec 2, 1944. The 35th works on 435 front line surgical patients while at Teting for only 20 days.
The 35th moves from Teting to Metz Dec 23-27 1944 for 4 nights indoors stay during the move to Luxembourg City on December 28 1944.
The 35th in Luxembourg till early March of 3, 000 front line surgical patients.
Arrives in Helensburg Germany March 6, 1945 then Darmstadt, Bad Salzengen, Gross Schon Brunn. May 18th 1945 at Erlangen. June 2-3rd, 1945 at Nurnberg (Nuremberg) Sports Stadium for USO Show.

Original Vintage stateside 1942-5 WWII US Army photo from the collection & albums of Surgical Tech M/Sargent John R Grimes & his wife & officer Army Nurse Joanna Hathaway. (Married in dual Army wedding in Erlanger, Germany July 19th, 1945). Both served with the famed 35th Evacuation Hospital, Patton's 3rd Army which left from England for Omaha Beach on D-Day+12. The 35th was in operation on the Continent for 227 Combat days with taking care of 21, 000+ front line casualties.. It participated in all five major Campaigns.
All photos in collection are identified by Joanna with her writing in albums. Many I left on album paper. Others I have the info in the title and I added any ID'd names to the back of photo in light pencil.
Many photos look like they are official 35th Evacuation Hospital unit photos.
