BilletSPIN 'Rotor' Spintop - Basket weave Damascus body with copper stemThis is a pre-owned BilletSPIN Rotor Spin Top taken in trade from a collector who spun this top only a handful of times.  Purchased brand new directly from BilletSPIN, I would not call this top a 'User' rather i would say it was spun and enjoyed a handful of times and has only the slightest visible signs of careful and sporadic use.    Don't take my word for that - please see my detailed hi...gh resolution photos for exact condition.  All pictures are of actual top taken date of auction listing. The BilletSPIN Rotor Spintop was made with the standard trio of materials; Bronze, Copper, and Stainless Steel. All 9 combinations of stem and base were offered for this two-piece top.There were only three exotics made using three different kinds of Damascus steel:  Spiro, Basketweave, and Razorwire. Each lends a somewhat unique look to the top as they have their own visual properties. Spiro is a wavy pattern of lines, Basketweave is interweaving stretches of lines, and Razorwire is small barbed patterns.  Damascus patterns were produced in a limited series and each person was only able to purchase 1 Damascus Rotor top at time of release.  This Spin Top features the Basketweave Damascus for the body.There are 2 features which make the Rotor very unique:Unique twist grip where every other groove is deep/shallow; Grip is easy on the hands but still gives good grip!   The stem is a spiralling pattern of alternating deep and shallow grooves. They run from the base of the stem to the tip. This is somewhat rare as normally the grip remains just at the top of the stemThe side of the Rotor Spintop has one of the best kept secrets for this design; Sandwiched between the three easily visible rings is a more geometric octagon. This isn’t immediately obvious but adds depth to the side of the top.
