This elegant antique/vintage Art Deco diamond platinum ladies' evening watch is from an estate. It has beautiful sparkle and looks expensive - it will get attention. It is an original, not a reproduction - it has been in our family since it was new, circa 1920s. It has recently been cleaned and serviced and is in good, working condition.
The entire bracelet measures 6 inches in length, a small size. The face says Waltham and has beautiful Art Deco lettered Arabic numerals. The watch... has 6 baguettes totaling .42 carat, and 138 single cut diamonds totaling 2.29 carats, for a total of 144 diamonds at 2.71 carats. The diamond clarity is VS2 (any inclusions are very small and difficult to locate under magnification), color G-H (near colorless, one grade below perfectly colorless D-E-F), so it is of very nice quality. It is the wind-up mechanical style with 17 jewels. The diamond-set clasp is a double bar fold over, one clasp inside the other for security.
The case lug-to-lug is 33.45mm x 10mm. (The lugs are the part of the case to which the bracelet is attached. Think of the piece that holds a leather strap on a watch). The side of the case and lugs are set with single cut diamond melee. The bracelet is permanently attached to the case and has a geometric triangular and navette design. The total weight of the watch is 17.33 grams including diamonds. The inside of the case back is marked "10% IRID PLATINUM" and the clasp says "10% IRIDPLAT PAT NO175495."
