CONDITION/DESCRIPTION:
Up for sale we have a very rare and fabulous pair of Vala Moro (Vienna) Art Deco Nude Woman color etching prints. Estimated from the mid 1920's to the 1930's, these prints are very scarce, although I have been able to find some info on the internet about them....0; Both have wear and patina in the form of wrinkles and some small digs in the surface of the print. They frame is made of thin wood with a green strip in the middle. Each piece is pencil singed at the bottom and the larger one is titled "Black Bottom." You get exactly what you see in the pictures.
The one titled Black Bottom measures 15" x 9.5" inside of the matte. Overall size of the frame is 18.75" x 13". The other print measures 11.75" x 7.5" inside of the matte. Overall size of the frame is 16" x 10.75". Vala Moro was an Austrian-Hungarian dancer and artist. She lived in Vienna and was active, circa 1924 until the 1930s. She published an important work in the “Arthur Wolf Verlag” in Vienna with ten etchings in 1924. The edition was 350 and there are only few of these left. One complete example is in the National Library of Germany. Photographs of Vala Moro as a dancer are in the Austrian Theatre Museum.
