This is a vintage Schwinn Paramount and I am the original owner. In the mid 1960's I ordered this Schwinn Paramount road bike from a Schwinn dealer I knew. The serial number on the left rear dropout is Z69 which indicates it was made in the last half of 1965. The bike was originally red. I had it factory repainted in the 1980's and changed the color to blue. This is a classic bike that I'd like to keep, but my riding days are over and at some point you have to let go.
I raced t...he bike in the 60's, 70's, and 80's and after that it was stored in my basement. I recently prepared the bike for riding by cleaning it up, regreasing the wheel bearings, and replacing the tubulars, handlebar tape, and toe straps, rear brake cable, crank dust covers (I had lost the originals), and the 5-speed freewheel. The bike still rides nicely based on a quick spin around the block.
The frame is in good condition. There are no dents, just a few minor scrapes and scratches. Paint is good considering the age. There is some rust on the seat tube and down tube where the pump brackets and water bottle brackets were located. Some of the chrome is looking old - signs of rust here and there that may not show in the pictures. Up close you can see that the top surface of the chrome fork lug is roughed up, and it also doesn't show in the pictures.
The Campagnolo equipment is original as are the Weinmann center pull brakes. I think the handle bar and stem are also original equipment but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure I replaced the original saddle with the B-17 Swallow in the late 1960's. The wheels were probably replaced in the 70's or 80's based on their slightly better condition. All the equipment works reasonably well. The rear brake has lost some of its original spring when released, but still works. When checking that the cranks rotated freely, I noticed there is just a little play in the bottom bracket axle (I don't think the bottom bracket or the headset bearings were ever regreased).
Wheels are in good condition and look good from a distance, but they're more than a quarter century old and no longer have that shine that new equipment has. The wheels spin reasonably true within about 1 mm.

Road frame: Reynolds 531 double butted. The following dimensions are approximate, centerline to centerline: 22.5 inch seat tube (23 inches to top of seat tube which I believe is how it was measured when I bought the bike),

The bike will be shipped disassembled. I will remove wheels, handlebars, and seat. Pedals will be installed on the reverse side of the cranks. Spindals will be removed from wheels for shipping. I'll ship the bike in a ShipBikes box with frame well protected.
Assemble the bike, pump up the tires, and it's ready to ride.
