Hello and welcome to The House of chrome. You are looking at a general purpose 641 model microphone made by Electro Voice during the 1950's with outstanding sound quality that just happens to make for one of the best dynamic harp mics available today. It comes with a vintage Switchcraft 2501F cable adapter for operating. This 641's front grill has a classic design that resembled the air intake for many of the early American and Soviet fighte...r planes of that era. You'll notice that the microphone manufacturers were copying the styles of the American automobile, aircraft and space agencies for many years. Made right here in the U.S.A 60 + years ago this mic has a dual chrome front and rear body with center plastic assembly. Thoroughly tested and cleaned this 641 has 100% signal output and has a higher pitched tone. Though originally designed as a rugged general purpose mic utilizing a High Z element is actually ideal for use as a harp mic as it's light weight, easy to cup and has a great, raspy sound. I've sold quite a few of these and I get nothing but the best feedback on these. The 641 microphone comes with the ON / OFF switch unlike the E.V 638 model. The on / off switch works just fine. If you want the same sound but without the ON / OFF option I would highly recommend an E.V 638 instead. The mic has typical cosmetic wear but still above average for the 641's I have seen on Ebay. lite scratches, fine pitting and a few scuff marks. I'd rate this an 8 on a scale of 1 - 10. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. Both metal screens show zero tarnish or indentations. The threads for both the cable and stand are excellent with zero wear. Even the 641 badge looks fantastic! This one is ready to plug in and play. This 641 is solid. No loose parts inside or out. The mic comes with the quality 2501F model Switchcraft female 1/4 inch connector / adapter in which to operate the mic. It screws onto your mic like a cable would. Simply leave it on the mic and insert any male 1/4 inch cable (mono) and the cable will seat via tension. Much easier to find a 1/4 inch cable than the standard cables that came with these mics you'll see. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY. As always...
