I just love the opportunity to work on vintage horns like this one. Serial 8XXP1 puts this horn around 1928. This one has seen a lot of history, probably played in a lot of amazing places in its time. We lavished a lot of love on it. Three step oiling process and then carefully dried after being taken down to the posts and cleaned. All new corks and felts etc. Buffet, factory pad set, except for the very top--in cork for moisture. Fully polish...ed, adjusted, regulated, tweaked...on and on. No body cracks or repairs. This A horn comes with both a 66mm barrel and a 59mm barrel. I do not usually provide a mouthpiece with an A horn, as most people already have their preferred MP. However if you need one, I have many available. Stored in a very clean, Buffet A case. Sorry, as yet I have not been able to find a key for the earlier lock, but I'm workin' on it! Nearly impossible to find a vintage horn that has been this well refurbished, and is in this overall condition. The wood glows, and the sound is so clear. If you are a collector, or simply need an A horn and want something a little different, this one is for you.
This is a smoke free environment. Neither the horn nor the case have any old-horn reek or any other reek. We have alternate barrels, and as noted mouthpieces etc.
