This amp looks great. It is not perfect because it is missing the top... back cover, and there are two cigarette burns on the top of the amp. There is a couple of small scratches on the front control panel as well. The front grill cover looks nice but has a couple of small little snags. The amp is very clean inside and out. The original handle is in good condition. Check out the photos....it's an aged beauty for sure.
The amp works perfectly. No major repairs have been done. All of the caps are original. It looks like one tube socket was replaced a long time ago. The speaker is an obvious replacement but it sounds great. The amp powers up perfectly with no hiss, fizz, or pops. NO AC HUM! The amp is surprisingly loud. Tremolo works fine. Both channels sound great. The first one has a darker sound and beautiful round chimey notes at low volume, tight crunch at hi-volume. The second channel is incredible.....blissful clean tones and a rock screamer when cranked with sustaining feedback and beautiful over tones. ...simply incredible !
ONE THING TO NOTE ABOUT ALL VINTAGE AMPS: like an old car, they have parts that wear out and do not age well..the electrolytic capacitors are all original inside this amp and most folks would agree 50+ year old caps are no good...these are holding well, working well...no issues..... but it is advisable to have them replaced and it is a standard service like getting new tires and brakes on a car.
