Condition: The medal is in good condition. It is was awarded many years ago, but anyway this medal still in a good condition in corresponds to regarding itsage. A great exemplar to add to your collection! The best indication ofcondition is to study the photographs carefully. Medal very attractive, evenpatina on both sides indicates the authenticity of the product. The details ofthe bas-relief are perfect and extremely crisp; practically all of theoriginal. A superb example all through. The award retains beautiful lustereverywhere. There are a no bumps or scratches especially visible. Thesuspension device is original and completed. The certainly soviet ribbon is alittle bit worn and tattered. It remains sound overall however, and in ouropinion, add tremendous amount of character to the medal.Thebest indication of condition is to study the photographs carefully, thepictures that are taken are also to be considered a part of the description ofthe item.Description:The Jubilee Medal "In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of theBirth of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin" was a 32mm in diameter circularbrass medal. All three variants, civilian, military and for award to foreignersshared the basic design. On a matte finished obverse, the polished left profileof Vladimir Ilyich Lenin over the relief dates "1870 - 1970". Thereverse bore at its center the horizontal relief inscription on four lines"TO COMMEMORATE THE 100th ANNIVERSARY OFV.I. LENIN" (Russian: «В ОЗНАМЕНОВАНИЕ 100-ЛЕТИЯ СО ДНЯРОЖДЕНИЯ В. И. ЛЕНИНА»), above the inscription, the relief image of the hammerand sickle, below the inscription, the relief image of a small five pointedstar. The variant to Soviet civilians also bore the relief inscription alongthe upper medal circumference "FOR VALIANTLABOUR" (Russian: «ЗА ДОБЛЕСТНЫЙ ТРУД»), the military variantbore the relief inscription along the upper medal circumference "FOR MILITARYVALOUR" (Russian: «ЗА ВОИНСКУЮ ДОБЛЕСТЬ»), on the award to foreigners, these inscriptions were omitted.The Jubilee Medal "In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of theBirth of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin" wassecured by a ring through the medal suspension loop to a small 29mm wide by25mm high rectangular mount covered by a 24mm wide red silk moiré ribbon with2mm yellow edge stripes and two 1mm yellow central stripes separated by 2mm.
