Up for offer we have AExtremely rare turn-of-the century Noah's Ark cookie box issued by the United States Baking Company. The box is constructed of wood and resembles Noah's Ark in both its design and exterior decoration. Created in the shape of a house, the cookie box is covered with a paper overlay with color illustrations that further enhance the illusion of an ark. Noah and his sons are pictured in the main window, while various animals are depicted peeki...ng through the shuttered windows. One side of the "roof" serves as the lid to the box. The label Say NOAH'S ARK R. Ovens Bakery United States Baking Company- Buffalo N.Y. The United States Baking Company was one of literally hundreds of regional bakeries that were purchased by the National Biscuit Company in the early 1900s. This "Noah's Ark" cookie box once obviously held cookies designed in the shape of animals, and was a forerunner to the National Biscuit Company's famous Animal Cracker brand, which became a staple for children a few short years later and is popular to this day. This box is extremely rare and has survived in good condition, especially given its age and fragile nature. This is being sold as found There are a few areas of paper loss some discoloring and browning also, The Lid is separated From Box.
