Vintage US Military Storage Box With Lapel Pins And Ribbons WWII?

Steel storage box with a lot of 7 lapel pins and 13 ribbonsThe box measures approx 9" x 4" x 3", and has rust stains and scratches, visible in photo.I assume that it is a military issue box for storing personal items or small tools. Has owner's name and possibly military ID number printed on box.
The pins are in good condition; all but one have the backing for attachment. The ribbons are fair, with some rust stains.
From where they came from, I believe that ...these are from the WWII era or shortly after. If you have better information, please email me and I will update the listing.
