"THE HUMP" is the personal memoir of Carl Constein who was a C-46 pilot stationed at Chabua, India with the 1333rd AAF. He flew 96 round-trip missions over the Hump from China to India across the Himalaya mountains. It was a hazardous 500-mile route where hundreds of American pilots and their crews delivered supplies for the war effort. It was incrediblby dangerous because of the fierce, unpredictable weather--ice, snow, rain, thunderheads were exceptiona...lly dangerous on most missions.
